Interlibrary Loan (ILL) Policy for RUSM Library
The Interlibrary Loan (ILL) service is available to all registered users of the online medical library to access materials not available within our digital collection. The following policy outlines the guidelines for using this online service:
Eligibility: ILL services are available to all registered users with a valid RUSM account in good standing. Users must be affiliated with the institution to access the service. They must use an RUSM email address when filling out the request.
Request Limits: Users may have up to five active ILL requests at any given time. Additional requests may be submitted once existing requests are fulfilled or closed.
Request Process: All ILL requests should be submitted through the online library's ILL request form. To facilitate timely processing, users must provide accurate and complete citation details, including article titles, authors, publication dates, and other relevant information.
Digital Delivery: Whenever possible, ILL materials, such as journal articles or book chapters, will be delivered electronically to the user's registered email address in a digital format (PDF). Physical items are not available through this service.
Loan Periods and Renewals: The lending institution determines loan periods for digital materials , which are typically limited to a one-time download or access for a specified period. Renewals are generally not available for digital ILL items.
Costs and Fees: The library strives to obtain ILL materials at no cost to the user. However, if the lending institution charges a fee, the user will be notified beforehand and asked to cover any associated costs.
Notifications: Users will receive email notifications when their requested items are available for download or if there are any issues with their request.
Use Restrictions: Digital materials obtained through ILL are subject to the use restrictions of the lending institution, such as limitations on printing, downloading, or sharing.
Compliance: All users must comply with copyright laws and the lending institution's terms and conditions. Failure to adhere to these guidelines may result in the suspension of ILL privileges.
By using the Interlibrary Loan service, users agree to adhere to these policies and respect the terms and conditions set by the lending institutions.
